This year, we have expanded our team to support our growing customer base, as well as rewarding our staff for their hard work during the pandemic.
Since March, when the pandemic began, we have taken on five new field engineers, a new accounts admin team member and two apprentices to help with increased demand. The team has carried out 14,500 jobs since March, and will also receive a pre-Christmas bonus as a thank you for all their hard work to ensure ongoing COVID-19 compliance.
Our director, Mark Bolitho, said: “We’re extremely proud of how the team have supported customers over the last six months and responded to the challenges of COVID-19.”
“Having heat and hot water, especially as we’re coming into winter, is vital to our customers. The team have adapted brilliantly to make sure we can continue to give the same high standard of service levels in a safe and secure way.”
“Adding to the team will also help with capacity as we’ve seen an increase in calls from new customers who have not been able to get support for boiler services or installations elsewhere.”
Our fellow director Paul Smith has led on the updated health and safety guidelines, which includes a pre-appointment call and the use of PPE.
“We are an essential service, so health and safety in the workplace are vital,” said Paul. “We are constantly monitoring government guidance and adapting our policies to ensure we can provide the best service safely.”
“I am so pleased with how the team, both in the field and in the office, have taken this on. And the feedback from our customers backs this up.”
Kim Conchie, CEO of Cornwall Chamber, said: “When we talk about a business embedded in the community, Blue Flame sums this up perfectly from its apprenticeship scheme through its training and customer care.”
“It is a business that knows its success is based on reputation, referrals and repeat business.”
“Congratulations once again on your ongoing development, growth and genuine role in Cornwall’s business and the wider community.”
