COVID-19 Update May 2020 – Services we can now provide

Firstly, we hope you and your families have been able to stay safe and well during these unbelievable times. It has been a challenging time for us at Blue Flame, much like many other businesses in our local community.

Having worked in both your homes and businesses for over 30 years, ensuring that you are safe and have plenty of heating and hot water, the current ongoing situation has impacted how we deliver our services to you.

For the last few months, as per the Government guidelines, we have been completing “essential” works only. These works include heating and hot water breakdowns, electrical faults, emergency installations and gas safety inspections.

On top of providing these services during the normal working day, our teams have continued to operate around the clock, providing out of hours emergency cover for our contracted customers. Even during a global pandemic, boilers still break down!!

Health and safety have continued to be of the utmost importance to us. We have worked closely with our external health and safety consultants to ensure we can work safely in people’s homes, whilst ensuring the safety of both our staff and customers at the same time.

Our staff have been issued with the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks and gloves. Detailed risk assessments and method statements have been put in place allowing our staff to work safely. These have been added to our website for you to view if required. The Government has now eased restrictions on “essential” works only, meaning that we can expand the services we currently provide. This work will only be undertaken providing that social distancing measures can be maintained and the work required carried out safely.

We are now able to carry out:

  • Annual appliance servicing
  • Electrical Inspections and testing
  • Routine repair/breakdown visits
  • Non-essential quotations
  • Installations and project work

If you require other services, please feel free to contact our team and we will advise whether it is possible to complete this for you.

Like many businesses across the country, we are currently working with a reduced workforce to ensure our most vulnerable staff are safe. We will therefore remain on our current hours of 8 am-4:30 pm for pre-booked appointments. You will still be able to contact us out of these hours for emergencies.

As we move back into the ‘new normal’ way of life, we look forward to bringing you new and exciting offers and services as well as being able to carry out all those jobs no matter how big or small.
