We have some incredible news that could benefit you, your family, or your friends.
Blue Flame is now able to offer eligible customers a fully funded condensing gas boiler upgrade under the latest ECO4 upgrade scheme.
What is the ECO4 scheme?
The ECO4 scheme was introduced in April 2022 and replaced previous government-backed initiatives, such as ECO3. This scheme aims to support individuals and low-income households by providing them with low-cost, high-efficiency heating and insulation solutions.
The scheme aims to improve living standards by providing fully backed government grants to upgrade or replace energy efficiency products in your home, allowing you to live more comfortably while also saving on your energy bills. It provides grants for loft insulation, cavity wall insulation and central heating improvements, the latter being where we come in.
What are we offering?
Subject to meeting the eligibility criteria, Blue Flame can complete the full installation of a brand-new Worcester 4000 condensing gas boiler, flue, and controls – All fully funded under the ECO4 scheme*.
How do I find out if I’m eligible?
For anybody to qualify all you need to do is confirm these few criteria below.
**Social housing and privately rented properties are not eligible for a funded replacement boiler. However, see notes at the end of this document for details on how customers, including private rental properties, can be eligible for a brand new, ‘First time’ whole central heating system.
- To be eligible for the ECO4 funding you must own the property and live in it yourself. Or the applicant can be a family member of the same name living at the same property.
- You must have a NON-CONDENSING boiler or back boiler installed.
- The property must be rated D and below on its Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). If you don’t know the EPC rating of your property you can search neighbouring properties in your road by going to the government website and this will help give you an idea of what rating your property may be: https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate.
- Does anyone who lives permanently at the property receive any of these benefits:
Income based Jobseekers allowance
Income related employment and support allowance
Income Support
Pension credit guarantee
Working tax credit
Child tax credit
Universal credit
Housing benefit
Pension credit savings credit
Child benefit (with child benefit there is a threshold noted in the box below)
How do I know if this is legitimate?
The ECO4 scheme is 100% genuine and is backed by the government. It’s been widely covered online, and you can read all about it on the UK government’s website. The ECO4 grant scheme aims to:
- Improve the energy efficiency of properties that fall under bands E, F, or G
- Support low-income households struggling to manage with rising fuel costs
- Help the UK meet its Net Zero targets and combat climate change
- Make the scheme more accessible to a wider range of people than previous schemes (such as ECO3)
- Get local authorities and energy suppliers directly involved in helping people improve their energy efficiency at home and bring fuel costs down
Looks like I might be eligible, what are the next steps?
Simply get in touch with our friendly local team at Blue Flame (01326 378122 – Option 2) and we will work with you to start the application process with the funding providers. Once the grant funding has been approved, a surveyor will be in touch to arrange a property survey.
Please don’t hesitate to share this fantastic opportunity with your family and friends, as it really might help someone you know during this difficult and expensive time we are all currently living in. We look forward to being able to help our local community with this government backed initiative.
*Installations from Blue Flame
Some installations may not be fully funded under the ECO4 scheme due to the complexity of the boiler installation. The installation can still be part funded under ECO4, but the customer may have to make a contribution towards the cost of parts of the installation.
**‘First time’ whole central heating system
Do you own, or live in a property that has NO gas central heating at all? Perhaps you have night storage heaters, electric panel heaters, or even a solid fuel fire. If the property has a live gas supply and gas meter which was installed before March 2022, you may be eligible for a ‘first time’ central heating system.
Even if the property is a private rental, it could be eligible for the ECO4 funding. There are two things required to be eligible for the funding:
- We need the landlord’s permission for the tenant to get the works done on the property.
- The tenant needs to be on one the qualifying benefits.
